This venture studio focuses on demonstrating how Hypercerts and retroactive funding might work in the real world. Hypercerts are impact certificates developed by Protocol Labs. We're spearheading a series of experiments in Taiwan hoping to showcase success.

What keeps me awake at night isn’t how to keep the momentum going. We know it would go up and down despite our best efforts. This is just something we need to learn to live with. What I do care about is how da0 might be able to say “Thank You!” in a better way, to reward meaningful contributions, and to keep things going even when the momentum is at a low point.
Taiwan is an unique place, marginalized yet right between global super powers, minimized yet excelled in many unexpected ways. Taiwanese of this generation seek purpose, some through efforts such as g0v, others through baseball players they call the pride of Taiwan. Meaning, I believe, is yet to be found. Individuals on this island are eager to find our place and our contributions to the world.。
The answer is no, DAO has not existed that long. “The DAO” was created by a few members of the Ethereum foundation in 2016, the project didn’t survive, but the name did.
DAOs might not have been around that long, but the concept of decentralization has been mentioned many times in history, the word “décentralisation” first appeared in French literature in 1820s, later also mentioned in the French Revolution, the history lesson can be found on Wikipedia.
da0’s very first event was a success. The goal of this event was to introduce da0 to Taiwan’s web3 and civic communities, as well as inspire the imagination of how web3 and commons can intersect. The da0 team spent 12 Friday night meetings organizing this event, the event had over 50 attendees on a rainy day with mostly organic outreach, many positive feedbacks were given directly to contributors, but of course there’s always room to improve.
